The decision of the top Russian government on the construction of railway tracks bypassing the Ukrainian territories has received a rapid character.
It was initially planned that the railway section Zhuravka-Millerovo will be put into operation in 2018, however its construction goes at an accelerated rate, and the work will be completed ahead of schedule – by August, 2017. This became known from the statement of the chief of the main department of railway troops of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation Lieutenant-General Oleg Kosenkov.
According to the Lieutenant-General, the opening of traffic on the railway section Zhuravka-Millerovo bypassing Ukraine is planned for August of the current year. It is noted that at present the construction work is conducted of the upper structures of the tracks on about 6 stages, the total length of which is over 170 km.
After the coup d’etat in Ukraine in 2014 the relations between Moscow and Kiev become considerably complicated. The anti-Russian orientation of the new Ukrainian leaders forced Moscow to take serious measures concerning the security of the people and economy. The construction of the railway tracks bypassing Ukraine became one of the global projects that are now successfully being realized.
