One in four Russians are not against the accession of Donbass. Oleg Tsarev told NSN that the Russian Federation and Ukraine could become a Union State.
A quarter of Russians support the stance that Moscow should recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s republics (the DPR and LPR). Such is the data of a poll conducted by WCIOM between March 22nd-23rd. Sociologists also found out that almost as many citizens (24%) are not against the Republics joining the Russian Federation. At the same time, 30% of respondents are sure that Moscow shouldn’t interfere in the conflict in the southeast of Ukraine.
The former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, the former speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev told NSN that he supports those who consider that the Republics of Donbass must be a part of the Russian Federation, and said that he dreams of Ukraine also joining Russia.
“I would like that all of Russia and all of Ukraine became a Union State,” he stated to NSN.
The situation in Donbass mustn’t be considered separately from the situation inside Ukraine.
“It is necessary to see what will happen around the world. Ukraine today is one of those points where the destinies of the world are being decided. Scenarios can be absolutely different – from the disintegration of Ukraine, to its accession to Russia,” believes the former Rada Deputy.
At the same time, Oleg Tsarev emphasized that he isn’t Russian and his opinion is unlikely to be considered.
Earlier, the official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov stated that the administration of the Head of State didn’t consider the possibility of the inclusion of Donbass in the structure of the Russian Federation.
