A Donetsk Woman’s Story of How She Went to Get Water & Almost Died

NEW – July 16, 2022

38-year-old Anastasiya Dzyuba, who lives in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk, was standing in line with her neighbours on July 9 to get water in the basement of her building. Shelling started unexpectedly and covered people with shrapnel.

“We are given water once a week, we had to have time to collect it. I didn’t even hear the explosion, I suddenly realised that I was falling, and when I looked down, I saw that my legs were gone. My ears were ringing, but I didn’t lose consciousness,” the girl told the “Donbass Decides” channel.

Anastasiya is raising her 11-year-old son Konstantin. The boy is a disabled child and cannot do without outside help.
