A Major French Insurance Company Has Fled From Ukraine

The AXA Group (France) reported that 100% of the stocks of AXA Insurance and AXA Insurance Life have been sold to the Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited company (Fairfax, Canada). 
This was reported in the press release of the group.

As is specified in the message, 50% of the AXA Insurance company belongs to UkrSibBank.

Fairfax, with its headquarters in Toronto (Canada), is a holding company for financial services through which the network of its own companies provides investment management, property and liability insurance, and reinsurance. In February, 2015 Fairfax announced the purchase of 100% of the insurance company “QBE Ukraine”, having later renamed the company “Colonnade Ukraine”.

As of the end of 2017 Fairfax owned 28.06% of Astarta Holding N.V. (Netherlands), which is a holding company of the agro-industrial holding “Astarta”.

The AXA Insurance company (Kiev) is the leading insurance company in Ukraine.“AXA Insurance” is owned by AXA Group (France) and has been represented in the Ukrainian insurance market since 2007. The company has more than 780 employees and 1,220 agents throughout Ukraine. “AXA Insurance Life” was registered in July, 2013.
