In the morning of Saturday, February 16th, in the village of Peski in the Volyn region supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine cut off the locks from the doors of the local Church of St. George of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed]. The spokesperson of the Volyn diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed] Oleg Tochinsky reported about this on his Facebook page.

According to him, the most active part in the occupation of the temple was played by the commander of a local unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Ivan Pashnyuk, who used a chainsaw to cut the locks of the Svyato-Troitsky Sobor of the city of Berestechko. The local attendant of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate Vladimir Kurchin was also present at the scene.
