The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine supports the creation of special forces for the detention of the former president Viktor Yanukovych in Russia and to extradite him home. This was reported by the prosecutor in the case of Yanukovych Ruslan Kravchenko in an interview to “Hromadske.ua”.

The prosecutor is convinced that after a guilty verdict is announced to the former head of Ukraine [for the record: this will never happen – ed], law enforcement bodies must do everything possible to detain and jail him.

“Maybe create a division like Mossad, for example, so that spetsnaz members come to the territory of the Russian Federation and bring him to Ukraine,” said Kravchenko.

He also noted that the prosecution didn’t ask the court to sentence Yanukovych to life imprisonment only because this norm wasn’t included in Ukrainian legislation at the time that the defendants committed the imputed crimes.
