A Veteran “Azov” Militant Refused to Shake Hands with Poroshenko

The former militant of the Ukrainian nationalist regiment “Azov” humiliated the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko by refusing to shake hands with him.

The veteran of theAzov regiment, being involved in the military operation in Donbass, Oleg Tolmachev refused to shake hands with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the handing out of awards to winners of Invictus Games.

As “UNIAN” reports, the man shook hands with other participants of the ceremony, but decided to ignore the hand of the Ukrainian leader. Poroshenko tried to shake hands with Tolmachev several times, and he even patted him on the shoulder, but Tolmachev only shook his head negatively.

The video was posted on the page of the far-right party National Corpus on Instagram.

Oleg Tolmachev, a native of Cherkassy, joined the nationalist battalion in June, 2014, and was involved in the storms of Marinka and Ilovaisk.

The Invictus Games are international multidisciplinary competitions for acting former military personnel who are now disabled. They are carried out in different countries at the initiative of Prince Harry. Ukraine has participated in these games since 2017.
