On the Eastern border of the Bustan al-Qasr district, the militant group “Jabhat al-Nusra” today, on October 20th, fired at the humanitarian corridor that is designed to allow armed radicals and wounded fighters to exit the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo. The correspondents of the Federal News Agency, who were present during the preparation of the humanitarian corridor, witnessed the shelling.

The first shots of mortars rang out from the depths of the residential area of the Bustan al-Qasr district at around 09.12. The target of the jihadists, no doubt, is the intersection to the right of the railway bridge, where there is an APC with speakers, five buses for everyone to leave the Eastern quarters, as well as several ambulances.

Three shells hit the football field, located in the close proximity to the bus parking lot. The fourth shell arrived there three minutes later, and didn’t explode. Two more shells were fired at residential houses adjacent to the avenue. In parallel with the work of the mortars, many gunshots from at least two heavy machine guns were heard.

During the attack none of those present were killed or injured. Syrian Arab Army units and the Republican guard were forced to open return fire in order to suppress them. The regime of humanitarian pause began operating in Aleppo on October 19th at 08:00 and will last until 19:00. The humanitarian pause is in effect until October 22nd inclusively. In order to do this, from 10:00 on 18th October the Russian and Syrian air force has ceased airstrikes on the terrorists in the area. Also, the SAA stopped artillery fire on the positions of Islamists, and are limited to return fire from small arms.
