The transfer of American military equipment in Europe demonstrates not so much the military power of the U.S., but their growing weakness and tendency to outright bluff.

The first group of soldiers of the U.S. armored brigade arrived in Poland. According to the agency RAR, 250 soldiers were deployed as part of operation Atlantic Resolve to strengthen the Eastern flank of NATO. The deployment of a US armoured brigade in Poland should be completed before the end of the month. In total in the country will arrive 3,500 US troops, more than 400 tracked units and about 900 units of wheeled vehicles, including 87 tanks, 18 self-propelled howitzers, and 400 trucks.

The first thing in the photos of American tanks and other equipment that catches the eye during the unloading done at the German port of Bremerhaven, is that all of it was painted yellow – so-called “desert camo”. In Europe, this colour for war machines looks quite strange. There is definitely nothing like the Arabian desert here.

To explain this mysterious phenomenon by the suddenness and urgency of the transfer of this formation to Europe is also impossible. The decision on this subject was made by NATO leadership in April of last year. So the Americans had more than enough time to work on the exterior aesthetics of the equipment. And this is not to mention that for according to the canons of military science, only those combat units that are fully ready for deployment to a new theater of war are allowed. Including in the sense that they have to have all the attributes for terrain masking.

I.e, the Pentagon was simply obliged to bring its equipment in full order before being transferred to the forefront of NATO in Europe. But it is also quite clear that this was not done. Why? This question is quite legitimate, especially given the fact that such negligence is, in principle, not typical for the American army, where they pay respect to various kinds of instructions and technical regulations.

So what happened to the Yankees, who previously always attached great importance precisely to the flawless appearance of their army? Considerations such as – “what difference does it make, they will paint it later” clearly here don’t work. Because it was precisely the moment of the arrival of these troops in Europe that was maximally highlighted in the media and, therefore, it is exactly this “picture” that had to be prepared in the best way. And who else if not the Americans, with their passion to PR-technologies, should understand this better than anyone else.

And despite this, the tanks that came down the German border looked as if they had not been touched by the hand of a human since the time of “Operation Desert Storm” in 2003! And this is confirmed not only by the desert livery, but also by signs visible in some photos that this military equipment is far from being first freshness.

So what happened to the always scrupulous and meticulous US military? Why did they allowed their troops to come to Europe in such an unfavorable sight? I repeat, haste has absolutely nothing to do with it. Time for preparation was more than enough. Only two logical explanations remain.

READ:  The Rules Have Changed

The first is that the material-technical and financial capabilities of the modern American army leave much to be desired, and already don’t allow the conducting of comprehensive preparations, even of those military units who are sent to serve in the most important “forefront boundaries”. If so, then it can be affirmed with certainty that the U.S. Armed Forces as a whole finds itself in a condition of very serious crisis, which, by the way, is confirmed by a number of other widely known facts of this kind – starting with a few days prior when the engine of the oldest in the world strategic B-52 bomber fell off mid-flight, and attempts to maintain the combat readiness of naval aviation by the method of “cannibalization” of a part of its aircraft, and ending with an acute shortage of ammunition to conduct even limited wars.

The second possible explanation, which does not exclude the first, is that such a slovenly manner of executing tasks of strengthening the position of NATO in Eastern Europe is connected to the fact that American commanders evaluate these maneuvers as the last convulsions of the current US administration, which only has a matter of days remaining. And they don’t want to seriously deal with things that quite probably and very soon new President Donald Trump will cross out. They, of course, they are military men and fulfill the order of Obama. But just as they will fulfill the exact opposite. So we ask – why spend extra money on such an obvious fraud?

And that’s not to mention the fact that NATO military deployment in Eastern Europe goes far beyond the line of “little red flags” in Russian-American relations, and certainly will become one of the first subjects of a future geopolitical talks.

At the same time, Pentagon generals probably understand that in the present state of the American army, it’s better nevertheless to negotiate with Russia than to fight. After all, the Americans drove into Europe, in fact, military scrap – military equipment of the sample of the 1970’s, which, quite successfully and in commercial quantities, are being beaten in Syria and Iraq (and Yemen – ed) by local militants, who are armed only with Russian ATGM “Kornet”. And they beat, by the way, not only the vaunted American “Abrams” but also the less “invincible” German “Leopards”.

Thus, the current transoceanic transportation of American military technology is difficult to consider in another way other than a fairly poorly prepared staged version of “Atlantic determination” to resist the “aggressive Russia”. The dramatization shows not so much the military power of the U.S., but their growing weakness and tendency to outright bluff.
