On October 14th in the Dnepropetrovsk regional state administration Dmitry Yarosh announced during his speech the beginning of the creation of territorial defense groups in all regions of Ukraine.
For this purpose he has moved some detached battalions of the “Ukrainian Volunteer Army” (UVA) away from the frontline in Donbass.

The People’s Deputy and commander of UVA Dmitry Yarosh specified that he is moving the 5th and 8th detached battalions away from the front line. He said that the UVA still continuing to participate in war is a priority, however now it takes place not just in Donbass, but also across the entire territory of Ukraine.

Territorial detachments will be created that will have clear functions for this purpose. They will be the advanced force of resistance, and it is necessary to begin to prepare them already now, according to Yarosh. The combatants and people interested in a common cause will be united in territorial detachments.

Dmitry Yarosh complained that upon returning from [front line – ed] positions, many combatants become scattered among a number of “ATO” organisations, which he sees as a threat because forces are interspersed and the potential that must become a “striking fist” is not realised.

That’s why Dmitry Yarosh sees the main task now as reuniting all demobilised persons in order to continue the war. In addition to preparing territorial defense groups, Dmitry Yarosh tasked UVA with helping government institutions that prevent “Russian revenge” in Ukraine.

At the end of his speech, Dmitry Yarosh added that the option of resolving the conflict in Donbass via diplomacy is unacceptable. He sees only a forceful option of “liberating the occupied territories”.
