Basurin: An Explosion Was the Cause of the Ukrainian Helicopter Crash in Donbass

Translated by Ollie Richardson

The authorities of the DPR have disproved the information of the Ukrainian media that the Mi-2 UAF military helicopter that earlier crashed near the settlement of Malinovka near Kramatorsk was downed as a result of a collision with power lines. The representative of operative command of Eduard Basurin stated this at a briefing in Donetsk.

“The real reason for the helicopter crash was the elimination of members of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine who had proof of looting by military units of the UAF following the results of an inspection of ammunition warehouses,” stated Basurin.

According to him, after the resonant explosion of a rocket and artillery ammunition warehouse of the UAF in Balakleya, the General Staff of the UAF initiated a check of all places of storage of ammunition of power structures.

“Special attention was paid to warehouses in the anti-terrorist operation zone. In them an investigation has already revealed many gross defects in the format of ammunition storage, as well as shortcomings,” summed up Basurin.

As a reminder, according to preliminary information, five people died as a result of the Mi-2 helicopter crash near the city of Kramatorsk.
