It is already three years that Maidan’s leaders have been in power. To what degree are the actions of the present power effective, and to whom did they bring benefits too? The former Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Tsarev spoke about the purposes and achievements of Maidan.
“Some journalists during and after Maidan asked me why did the slogans change every day on Maidan?” said Tsarev.
As the politician notes, every day there were new slogans and demands. There were demands for the acceptance of the Association Agreement with the EU, or to dismiss this or that politician.
“I told them that in reality these slogans were artificial. The aim of these slogans was simply to gather people. So what was the real purpose of Maidan? The purpose was rather clear. And this is to come to power and to ransack money. And it is this purpose that they achieved,” said the politician.
So the real purpose of Maidan was fulfilled, emphasizes Oleg Tsarev.
“These people who organized Maidan, used Maidan in order to get into power and to steal for themselves a fortune,” he stated. Any other purpose wasn’t really set and carried out, notes Oleg Tsarev.

That’s why to say that something is fulfilled or not, in principle doesn’t make sense.
“The task that was really set by the organizers of Maidan was fulfilled and over-fulfilled by them. Yatsenyuk is a billionaire, Poroshenko was bankrupt, and owed an enormous number of banks. He didn’t pay back all the credits, he managed to pull some strings. He shafted the banks and became a billionaire also,” noted Tsarev.
The oligarch Igor Kolomoysky also distinguished himself in this story. According to the politician, he “hung the debts on the state”. And the examples of this are plentiful.
“Even the leaders of hundred-strong units on Maidan fulfilled their tasks. They got into power and became Deputies. Look at their tax declarations,” summed up Tsarev.
