Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies Vladimir Kornilov, commenting on the statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko about the fact that the Kremlin allegedly sponsored eurosceptics in the EU, noted that Poroshenko can claim contrary things in one sentence, and not just in one speech.
“As I understand it, the Kremlin has been sponsoring euroscepticism since its inception? That is, years of commercials from the 1970’s? So let them provide the evidence and not use empty words. For example, during the April referendum in the Netherlands, allegations that local eurosceptics were financed by Russia were investigated. But the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands publicly stated that no Russian rubles were found,” the political scientist said in an interview with “SP”.
At the same time, according to him, the campaign to discredit skeptics was financed by Soros and Ukraine, but judging by the results of the referendum, they didn’t succeed.
Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko accused Russia of aggression and demanded to temporarily deprive it of its veto.
