Law enforcement officers sealed off the temple, however the raiders broke the seals of the police.

Activists of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) removed the hinges of the door of the St. George temple in the village of Kulchyn in the Volyn region, reported the press secretary of the Volyn diocese, archpriest Oleg Tochinsky, on Facebook.

He said that the dismantlement was carried out after the community of the temple made the decision to remain faithful to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed] and his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onufry.

“On video supporters of the OCU dismantled the doors of the local St. George temple of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed] after having broken the seals of the police – law enforcement bodies wanted to save the object from such actions and transfer the conflict to the legal plane,” said archpriest Oleg, describing the events.

The actions of the church raiders caused people to be outraged.

“This is a new temple, in 1986 there was a church, which was turned into some warehouse. People built a new one, and now their heart is being ripped out”
