The activists name the reason of the action, about which they reported about on Facebook, the “frankly anti-Ukrainian statements of high-ranking officials of Poland”, explaining that “it is about president Andrzej Duda and the head of the Law and Justice party in office Jaroslaw Kaczynski, who in categorical form demand from Ukraine to refuse the glorification of Stepan Bandera and UPA”.

“We have nothing to apologise for! Our country – our heroes!”

In the statement on behalf of “the coordinator of Black committee” Bogdan Tytsky, the Polish politicians’ statements are called a “stab in the back” to Ukraine, which “in heavy battles tried to escape from under the influence of the Russian Empire”. In the same statement Poles are reminded of the glorification of statesmen, “in particular Pilsudsky”, who was pursuing a “frankly anti-Ukrainian policy”.

“If our Ministry of Foreign Affairs isn’t capable of standing in defence of Ukrainian interests, then we will undertake these powers,” the organization declared.

Earlier, the leader of the Polish party in office Jaroslaw Kaczynski stated that the attitude of Poland towards Ukraine will depend on an interpretation by Kiev of the role of UPA, which committed “horrifying crimes against Poles”. In another interview, Kaczynski stated that Ukrainians wont “pass into Europe with Bandera”. At the same time, the government in Kiev isn’t in a hurry to denounce Bandera.
