Czech Social Activists: The People of Ukraine Do Not Want a Military Conflict with Russia

Translated by Ollie Richardson & Angelina Siard

The people of Ukraine, unlike the current government in Kiev, are not interested in unleashing a military conflict against Russia. This was said by representatives of the public of the Czech Republic.

The Czech journalist and chairman of public organisation “Society of Friends of the LPR and DPR” Jaromir Vasek said that in connection with the introduction in Ukraine of martial law “the executive committee of the Central committee of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (CPBM) made its opinion on the situation”.

“Authoritarian, with pronounced fascist elements, the ruling elite of oligarchs in Ukraine led by Petro Poroshenko feels the ground cracking under his feet and tries to prevent presidential elections. The CPBM condemns the announcement of martial law in Ukraine and considers it to be a threat to peace in this region. The people of Ukraine and Russia are not interested in unleashing a military conflict,” stated the journalist, quoting the party resolution.

He noted that the progressive Czech public condemns the hostile anti-Russian statements made by Czech politicians, having added that the government of the Czech Republic ignores the opinion of the residents of the country.
