Western journalists are not allowed to tell the truth about events in Donbass. They leave the combat zone, fleeing from UAF shelling, said the Deputy of the parliament of the Donetsk People’s Republic Vladislav Berdichevsky.

Berdichevsky spoke about the fate of a young French journalist, who prepared reports on the conflict in Donbass. When they returned to Paris, they were forbidden from publishing all the materials they compiled in this region. In addition, the interview that they gave to DPR television also became a threat for them: the foreigner asked representatives of the Republic to delete it.

The deputy of the DPR emphasized that there is no freedom of speech in Europe, as is otherwise commonly believed. He recalled how journalists of the BBC, CNN, and other “odious publications” worked in Donbass. Berdichevsky noted that they regularly said that in the southeast [of Ukraine – ed] “separatists kill the civilians of Donbass”.

However, this was before they came under UAF shelling. Ukrainian troops opened fire from Avdeevka, and journalists recorded all of this on camera. After this the traces of representatives of the western media in the combat zone went cold: journalists fled immediately after the UAF’s attack.

“This, by the way, was their last day here,” said the Deputy. “When there is nothing to lie about – they leave”.
