DPR Head Orders Rebuilding of Village Destroyed in 2014

Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko has given orders to start renovating the village of Kozhevnya, which was destroyed during warfare in the summer of 2014. He said this at a meeting of the Donbass National University of Construction.

“Kozhevnya is important for us. The village was heavily destroyed as a result of warfare. So, I confirm once again, we’ll renovate it. That would be the first step in our renovating work of all the residential areas that was destroyed by Ukrainian attacks,” he said.

In turn, the University’s specialists offered him a detailed project and a schedule of the repair work there. According to Head of the University Evgeny Gorokhov, the average costs on a building a cottage consist of some 3.8 million Russian rubles. A total of 20 residential buildings are planned to be installed in Kozhevnya. Also, road and facility laying is planned. An estimated value of the whole project is some 120 million Russian rubles.

It’s stated that the University’s students are going to participate in the construction work at the village.

Kozhevnya is located in the Shakhtyorsk district, north-east DPR, near the Russian border. Its square is 51 hectares. The village heavily suffered during warfare in the summer of 2014. The building renovation project design was initiated in July, 2015.
