First LPR Head Valery Bolotov Died

A source in the Union of Volunteers of Donbass reported that the prominent public, militaryman, and politician of the Lugansk People’s Republic Valery Bolotov died. The cause of death and the details are currently being established.

Valery Bolotov is known as one of the first leaders of resistance to the Kiev regime, which in April, 2014, openly called for resistance to the Ukrainian authorities and participated in the seizure of the SBU building in the Lugansk region. Since April 21st, 2014, he was a People’s Governor of the Lugansk region and one of commanders of the militia. On May 18th, 2014, at the first session of the Republic Meeting (Supreme Council) of LPR has was elected as the Head of the Lugansk People’s Republic. On August 14th, 2014, he retired because of a wound. After retirement he was engaged in the organization of humanitarian aid to the Republic.
