This was declared by the former speaker of the parliament of Georgia Nino Burjanadze. Commenting on the breakthrough of the former president of Georgia and former Odessa governor, she reported that she repeatedly, but without results, warned Poroshenko not to receive Saakashvili.
That’s why, according to her, Poroshenko “deserves” what is happening, because back then the Ukrainian President “offended the people of Georgia by receiving into his team the wanted Saakashvili – expelled from Georgia and is wanted along with criminal adherents, and was about to declare him as a hero“.
“Unfortunately, the events on the border of Poland and Ukraine on September 10th showed that Ukraine is not a country. It couldn’t provide security for its border, and the adventurer Saakashvili took advantage of it,” cites “Vzglyad” from Nino Burjanadze’s words.
“Poroshenko will lose the President’s post. But it shouldn’t be written down as Saakashvili’s gain. The incident brightly showed that behind Saakashvili are the intelligence agencies of America. From the beginning to the end it was an operation planned and protected by them,” she said.
In the evening of September 10th Saakashvili, together with his supporters, broke through to the territory of Ukraine at the Shegini checkpoint. During the clashes 11 law enforcement officers were wounded. As a result of events a criminal case was opened according to Part 1 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the border of Ukraine).
At the end of July, 2017, Poroshenko deprived Saakashvili of Ukrainian citizenship. According to official figures, the decision is connected with the fact that Saakashvili provided false data when obtaining a Ukrainian passport. Then the former governor expressed his intention to return back on September 10th.
Saakashvili received a Ukrainian passport on May 29th, 2015, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. In December of the same year the decree of the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili deprived him of Georgian citizenship in connection with obtaining the passport of a foreign State.
