The former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Aleksandr Golub venomously commented on the statement of the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko, who the day prior signed a decree on the “decommunisation of the army”.
In the opinion of Golub, such a decree means that “everything anti-Soviet will be implanted by force”. “It was now ordered to be proud only of the bandit raids of Banderists,” he explained.
“As I understand, the UAF has now officially struck itself off the list of winning armies in World War II (concerning the Great Patriotic War, I won’t even go there…), renounced the feats of their grandfathers and fathers, and stopped being the army that liberated the country from fascist evil…
And now instead of ‘Guard’ units they will solemnly assign the names of ‘Waffen SS’ to the units of ‘independent’ Ukraine,” noted Golub.
According to him, within the framework of decommunisation Muzhenko himself would have to resign.
“According to the logic of things, it follows that he also has to give up his Soviet military education and his own epaulettes,” wrote Golub on his blog.
