François Boulo: Why the Yellow Vests Want “RIC”

Have you ever heard the acronym “RIC” (French – “Référendum d’Initiative Citoyen”, English – “Citizen’s Initiative Referendum”) and “Yellow Vests” mentioned in the same sentence, but not understood what the connection is? Fortunately François Boulo, a lawyer from the French city of Rouen and leading figure of the Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Vests) movement, spoke about why the Yellow Vests have been demanding “RIC” since November 17th 2018 – the very first protest (known as Act 1).
