The Prosecutor General’s Office found a “hole” in the defense budget of Ukraine of 6.1 billion hryvnia (237 million dollars), reports the Ukrainian publication ZN.ua.

This was stated in the letter that the Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko sent to the Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman in July.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office suddenly found an enormous hole in the defense budget of the country. It turns out that for the end of last year the debt of enterprise-suppliers of the Ministry of Defence tripled — by 2.4 billion hryvnia (92 million dollars) and thus reached a record sum — more than 6.1 billion hryvnia,” it is noted in the letter.

As Lutsenko notes, this accounts for 11% of annual financing. At the same time overdue debt reached 755 million hryvnia (29 million dollars).

The debt of the “Ukroboronprom” concern to the Ministry of Defense is 1.6 billion hryvnia (61 million dollars), and the overdue debt is 335 million hryvnia (12 million dollars).
