The Security Service of Ukraine detained two Ukrainians who made calls to participate in the “Immortal Regiment“ event on May 9th. This was reported on the website of the SBU.
“Field investigators of the security service found two residents of the Kiev and Sumy regions who administered anti-Ukrainian communities on the VKontakte social network. Employees of the SBU documented that the malefactors received instructions from the Russian special services to organise the gathering of people interested in taking part in the so-called ‘March of the Immortal Regiment’ for money in different cities of the country,” it is said in the statement.
It is also noted that on the eve of May 9th the “propaganda activity of representatives of the ministry of information of the DPR intensified. Its workers distributed textbooks to owners of anti-Ukrainian communities on social networks for the carrying out of mass propaganda for the benefit of Russia.”
“Within the framework of realising the package of measures for countering Russian informational aggression on the eve of the May holidays, employees of the SBU blocked eight anti-Ukrainian communities on social networks that spread appeals to participate in provocative fake acts for the benefit of the aggressor country,” noted the SBU.
