Investigative Committee of Russia Established Names of UAF Commanders Involved in Shelling Donbass Residents

The names have been established of Commanders of the Ukrainian Armed forces involved in attacks on the civilian population in Donbass, reported the press-service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

“According to the investigation, on 17th April, 2016, Sergei Sirchenko, Aleksandr Scherbinin, and other soldiers of the 57th separate motorized brigade of the Armed Forces carried out aimed artillery fire from heavy weapons at civilian infrastructure, which are not military objectives, in the village of Zaitsevo, in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, in which three houses were partially damaged, a point of delivery of humanitarian aid, injuries were received by a female who wasn’t participating in the armed conflict,” said the official representative of department Svetlana Petrenko.

As was reported by the Investigative Committee, on 15th June 2016, Vasily Zubanich and soldiers of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the UAF conducted shelling with heavy weapons having high striking capabilities on the settlements of Krasnogorovka and Staromykhailovka, injuring two civilians not involved in the armed conflict.

According to reports, on July 7th, 2016, Sergei Brusov and other persons from among the military personnel of the 55th separate artillery brigade of the UAF carried out aimed artillery fire from heavy weapons at civilian infrastructure in the village of Zaitsevo, in which at least 30 homes were damaged, and two civilians received injuries of varying severity.

On 19th July, 2016, Ivan Garaz, Sergey Martsenyuk, and other soldiers of the 30th mechanized brigade of the UAF conducted shelling with heavy weapons on the territory of the Kuibyshevsky and Kievsky districts of Donetsk, as well as the settlement Yasinovataya. Eight houses were partially damaged, and four civilians received injuries of varying severity.

“The investigation believes that in all cases the Ukrainian military acted in violation of the provisions of international legal acts, guaranteeing the observance and protection of the civilian population in armed conflicts not of an international character,” said the official representative of department Svetlana Petrenko.
