“It Will Be Even Tougher”: The Plans of the Donbass Operation Have Changed

NEW – March 20, 2022

The first Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, told RT about the change in plans for a military operation to liberate the territory of the DPR. Apparently, the missile strikes on the centre of Donetsk and a cluster of civilians in the Kirovsky district, monstrous in their cruelty and senselessness, have borne fruit, but it is unlikely that the UAF will like their taste.

“Yesterday, they finally broke through the Ukrainian defence in the vicinity of the city of Donetsk. Let me remind you that the line of combat contact all these years passed along the western and south-western outskirts of the city of Donetsk. The positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the settlement of Maryinka were penetrated, after which our fighters began to cling to urban developments and advance with battles deep into the settlement.

So that the reader understands: it is not as easy as it may seem to break through army positions that have been erected and concreted for more than seven years.

Initially, the cleansing of settlements controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk direction, such as Maryinka, Avdeevka or Peski, for example, was planned not head-on, but from the rear, after the cleansing of Mariupol.

However, the enemy from their positions in Mariynka has behaved extremely inadequately over the past week and, according to military logic, senselessly. They massively shelled residential buildings of the village of Aleksandrovka and other residential quarters of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, striking mainly civilians.

In this regard, the command decided to immediately destroy the enemy in this direction, and our fighters are coping with the task. Then it will be even tougher… for the UAF.

Fierce street fighting continues in Mariupol, but our fighters are advancing meter by meter, destroying the enemy. The ‘Azov‘ militants and other Ukrainian formations have no chance. Besides, they’re running out of ammunition. The probability that someone will come to their aid from the territory controlled by Ukraine is negligible even in theory.

All the ‘beautiful’ videos of Biletsky and other leaders of the Ukrainian Nazis are nothing more than a PR campaign to collect likes under their videos and funds from naive Ukrainians. They say in every video that hundreds of volunteers are ready to come to the rescue, but they are waiting for an order. This is initially a cynical lie and PR on the blood of their own brethren.

Volunteers don’t need anyone’s order, and in the current Ukrainian realities, no one would have said a word to them in Ukraine if they had moved to Mariupol. Just don’t want to die, but to collect likes and money – yes.

Separately, I want to draw the reader’s attention to this. Russian soldiers, like the soldiers of the DPR, are prohibited from independently filming from the battlefields both in Donbass and in Ukraine. Only military officers who shoot stories as part of an editorial assignment are allowed to do this. Personally, I think it’s a mistake, but this is not the point.

The entire information field from the battlefields on our side is mostly filled with videos made by Chechen fighters. The viewer gets the impression that they are the only ones winning and basically they are the only ones fighting.

Chechen fighters have really arrived in Donbass and are really fighting together with our fighters on the Mariupol front shoulder-to-shoulder. For example, the Chechens are cleansing the large Azovstal plant, where it is very difficult for the advancing forces to fight, but they succeed. However, in the Mariupol direction, the main work is carried out by the soldiers of our army and our Ministry of Internal Affairs.

By the way, many people note that our army special forces, the 9th Army Regiment, the Special Rapid Response Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are showing themselves very well. But the problem is not that Chechen fighters can shoot videos, and that ours cannot.

The whole Internet is crammed full of Ukrainian materials — both fake and real, and we have critically little of this material.”
