Kiev Blocked the OSCE’s Initiatives to Stabilise the Situation in Donbass

The Ukrainian side sabotaged the OSCE SMM initiatives for resolving the conflict in Donbass during a meeting of the working group on security issues that took place on June 13th at negotiations in Minsk.

This was reported on the official website of the Representation of the DPR in the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination.

“The OSCE SMM consolidated all proposals that were heard earlier, and revised and submitted them in a neutral, fair form, however the representatives of the Ukrainian delegation politicised real practical steps again. Unfortunately, it wasn’t succeeded this time to progress in adopting the document with additional measures that would allow to react to violations in essence. It is obvious that signing such a document isn’t beneficial for the Ukrainian side,” it is said in the statement.

At the same time it is noted that representatives of the republics of Donbass and the delegation from the Russian Federation fully supported the proposals of the OSCE SMM and expressed their readiness to sign the document corresponding to the implementation of the points of the package of measures and the interests of the republics.

In addition, Kiev continues to announce the observance of the ceasefire regime on its part, despite the official reports of the OSCE SMM confirming that the UAF violates the regime and ignores the disengagement of forces.

“Despite another fact of violating the framework decision documented by the OSCE SMM at pilot site No. 3 ‘Petrovskoye-Bogdanovka’, the Ukrainian side continues to pretend that it violates nothing and transfers the discussion of this issue to other, topics that are unrelated to the agenda of the meeting.

The coordinator of the OSCE SMM, the ambassador Ertuğrul Apakan once again urged to take concrete steps for the stabilisation of the situation at all three sites and also said that the last violation of the ceasefire regime at the site of the disengagement of forces and weapons No. 1 ‘Stanitsa Luganskaya’ was recorded by the Mission on May 22nd. Respectively, the disengagement of forces and weapons could’ve happened repeatedly during this time, however the Ukrainian side continues to give its own statistics that have nothing in common with reality,” reported the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination.
