The Shevchenkovsky regional court of Kiev intends to begin on January 31st, 2017, consideration of the case against the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Party of Regions faction Oleg Tsarev.
This was stated in the judicial agenda published in the official newspaper of the central executive authorities “Uryadovy Kur’er”.
It is specified that in court proceedings Tsarev is accused of part 3 article 103 and part 2 article 110 (infringement of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal code.
A preparatory meeting is scheduled for January 31st at 9:00.
In the event of Tsarev’s absence, the court will hear the case against him in special (in absentia) legal proceedings.
As is known, in March, the Prosecutor General’s Office transferred to the court the indictment against the ex-deputy Tsarev, but the court returned it to the Prosecutor’s Office for revision.
Tsarev is accused of, during the period from April to May, 2014, being the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and a presidential candidate, taking part in a meeting of pro-Russian citizens where he publicly called for them to take actions directed at the violent change and overthrow of the constitutional system.
Also the ex-deputy, through the media, made appeals concerning the recognition of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” and “Lugansk People’s Republic”.
The accused was put on the wanted list.
“I’ve been thinking all the time with what the authorities of Ukraine will gift their people. What will they put under the New year-tree?
The banking system is destroyed. Visa-free is absent. There are losses at the front. On the external arena there are only scandals. Economy is collapsing. And here is suddenly… Victory!
It is somehow awkward to feel yourself as a New Year’s gift of the national level. For New Year. Under a New year-tree.”
