On September 4th, the Andrushevsky district court of the Zhitomir region postponed the hearing on the case of the journalists of “Channel 17” Dmitry Vasilets and his colleague Evgeny Timonin, who are accused of complicity in terrorism and separatism.

The lawyer of Dmitry Vasilets Svetlana Novitskaya notes the reason for such confusion: “One witness arrived, who the SBU attracted as an expert in carrying out house searches. The prosecutor’s office can’t provide the presence of two other witnesses. The witnesses themselves haven’t come already for the sixth time. And the court can’t do anything. Because of the absence of witnesses who don’t know the defendants, but only read Timonin’s page on social networks, we will continue to go back and forth and to further wait,” noted Svetlana.

The next hearing will take place on September 18th, at 14:00.

As a reminder, last year the journalist Dmitry Vasilts was detained on a charge of separatism, in particular, in the creation of the “Novorossiya TV” channel. As the journalist claimed, he has no relation to the TV channel and isn’t involved neither in its formation, nor the creation and dissemination of the information on this TV channel.
