LPR: “Jehovah’s Witnesses” Caught Disseminating Ukrainian Nazi Propaganda Material

Translated by Ollie Richardson & Angelina Siard

The Ministry of State Security of the Lugansk People’s Republic stopped the activity of the unregistered religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” working for the SBU and neo-Nazi groups.

As a result of carrying out operational search actions it was established that this organization not only worked in violation of the law of the Lugansk People’s Republic, but also was an active agent of influence of the Security Service of Ukraine in the LPR.

During a search of the rooms belonging to the religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” in Lugansk and Alchevsk, propaganda materials containing nazi symbols and references, and also leaflets with appeals to cooperate with the special services of Ukraine were found and confiscated.

Earlier these propaganda leaflets of the SBU and the National Corpus “Azov” were pasted in the city of Alchevsk.

According to the available information, the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” organization on the territory of the Lugansk region temporarily occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces renders assistance to radical, neo-Nazi groups and other military formations recognized as terrorist ones, the activity of which is forbidden in the LPR. In particular, this religious organization gave one of its rooms to the extremist organization “Right Sector” for free use.

During searches the employees of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR also found electronic media for the distribution of materials that sow hatred and hostility, humiliate honor and dignity of people on signs of belonging to a religious group.

Currently all printed and electronic materials were confiscated from the offices of “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and were transferred for complex examination and further investigation.
