The people’s militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic occupied a number of positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces without firing a shot, said the official representative of the LPR militia Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko.

“Recently in units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are carrying out tasks in the zone of the so-called anti-terrorist operation, a deterioration in the level of their moral and psychological condition is observed,” he noted, adding that in the ranks of the UAF widespread alcoholism is noted, the command structure withdraws from the leadership, ‘mass desertion’ is observed.

“In some areas near the contact line the Ukrainian positions were completely abandoned by fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” noted Marochko, reporting that thanks to this the militia “occupied several hundreds of meters of new territory without firing a single shot”.

Marochko added that since the beginning of the year the People’s militia of the LPR is 300 metres away from the settlement Popasnaya; in the region of Katerinovka they entrenched on Ukrainian positions, having advanced 250 meters; in the area of Zolotoye they moved forward 200 meters.

As a reminder, at the beginning of June the Ukrainian Armed Forces staged numerous attempts to break through the defense of the LPR People’s militia.

At the same time, the DPR earlier on June 16th stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces agreed to leave a number of positions in Donbass in exchange for remuneration from the militia.
