Today in the capital of the Lugansk People’s Republic at the Tower of Glory to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War a meeting-requiem took place in memory of the Serbians who died as a result of NATO punisher operations in 1999.

To honour the memory of the dead as a result of the NATO bombings of Yugoslavia, which begun on March 24th, 1999, more than 100 representatives of the Lugansk youth gathered. The student association “Young Republic” acted as the organizer of the action. Children held photos of the consequences of the barbaric bombing of Yugoslavia, and also posters saying — “Kosovo is Serbia”, “Russians and Serbians – brothers forever”, “Return Kosovo to Serbians”, “NATO – the executioner of the people”, and others.

The audience observed a minute’s silence in memory of the dead as a result of Western aggression towards Serbians, and at the Tower of Glory in memory of the killed Serbians icon lamps were lit. Then those who wanted to spoke words of solidarity with brothers — Serbians.

“On March 24th, 1999, without a UN mandate, the bombing of a peaceful country begun, having called the operation ‘merciful angel’. A more blasphemous name for a military operation couldn’t be thought up. 78 days of bombardments, 2000 victims – for what? For the inexplicable interests of the West?” said the leader of the student’s association “Young Republic” Evgeny Gubarev to the Novorossiya News Agency.

“Donbass perfectly understands the feelings of our Serbian brothers. We are subjected to the punisher operations of Ukrainian troops with the West’s full approval,” he noted.
