The former Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Oleinik intends to prove to the Ukrainian, Russian, and European courts the fact of the coup that occurred in Ukraine in February 2014. He declared this on 24.11.16 at a press conference in Moscow.
Originally Oleinik appealed to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, but there he was refused the initiation of criminal proceedings, even without having entered his statement into the state register, as is required by national legislation. Now the ex-people’s Deputy will appeal against this actions of the prosecutors in the Pechersky district court of Kiev.
“The ideology of a state coup permeated all branches of power. I hope that the Pechersky district court, hopefully, will make the right decision. If it will be negative, I will appeal in the judicial system of Ukraine, and then to the European Court of Human Rights. I believe that I will find the truth in Europe,” said Oleinik.
The Ukrainian politician also appealed to Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow with the request for the establishment of the juridical fact of a state coup in Ukraine. According to him, it is necessary in order to clarify the status of Ukrainian refugees. Filing a lawsuit in a Moscow court costs for Ukrainian politicians 300 rubles, which is several times cheaper than in Kiev. There Oleinik paid 500 hryvnia.
Oleinik is hoping to involve in the process as witnesses not only the overthrown of the Ukrainian government, but also European Ministers who acted as intermediaries in February 2014 during the negotiations of Viktor Yanukovych with the opposition, and gave guarantees of the immunity of the then Ukrainian President. The first hearing is to be held on the 5th of December.
“Today it is necessary to establish the juridical fact of a state coup. Then it will be clear what this power represents… They are not legitimate,” said Oleinik.
