In Odessa, during the celebration of a son’s birthday a conflict arose between him and his father, which developed into a fight. During this confrontation the father gave his son fatal knife wounds. This was reported by the police of Odessa region.

“During a celebratory meal, when both men were already drunk, a conflict arose between them, which developed into a fight. During the fight the father grabbed a kitchen knife and inflicted numerous knife wounds on the son, which he died from on the spot,” it is said in the statement.

This bloody tragedy received unexpected political overtones. As the father said himself, the murder happened because of a different attitude towards the current government.

“I don’t even know… We squabbled a bit … Who is right, who is wrong. It turned out that I was right. Little by little … And that’s all. ‘Poroshenko isn’t right’. There were some problems there… It begun with the fact that they make the wrong decisions. Everything is connected to political problems in our country. It was purely for politics …” said the detainee.

Data on the incident was already entered into the unified register of pre-judicial investigations under Part 1 of Article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
