The former People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev in an interview to Tsargrad highlighted that the incident with Saakashvili clearly demonstrates that Poroshenko loses levers of control, and his orders aren’t executed.
The politician noted that at the moment acting against Poroshenko are rather harmonious and powerful forces, behind which there can be the oligarch and former governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region Igor Kolomoisky.
“Recently I wrote that in Sardinia Igor Kolomoisky and the Ukrainian politicians, including from the ‘Opposition Bloc’, and businessmen met. And the fact that Saakashvili is now protected by the ‘Donbass‘ battalion demonstrates that everything takes place on Kolomoisky’s money. There also Yulia Tymoshenko became connected to this. Avakov didn’t counteract it. All of this sends very disturbing signals to Poroshenko. The previous action that was organized by Kolomoisky against Poroshenko – the blockade of Donbass – was also a serious challenge for Poroshenko. But then he managed to get out of the difficult political situation. He headed this blockade. But, having said that Mikho Saakashvili is his best friend, he won’t manage to get out this time,” considers Tsarev.
The former Deputy reminded that Saakashvili arrived to Ukraine at the end of 2013 in one train carriage with experts in the field of “color revolutions” and political strategists from the US, Serbia, and other countries – in total 36 people who helped opposition of that time to carry out a coup d’état. Then he also worked for the collapse of the Ukrainian authorities and was declared persona non grata.
Tsarev doubted that Saakashvili can have a big political future in Ukraine, but didn’t exclude that he and his people can again occupy certain positions in the event of Poroshenko’s torpedoing.
“I think that Yulia Tymoshenko uses Mikho Saakashvili as a battering ram against Poroshenko,” summarised Tsarev.
