The former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Tsarev, in a conversation with the NSN, stated that it is Kiev who is interested much more in a renewal of the supply of coal from Donbass.
“The question of a supply of coal is a question of survival of Ukraine as a state. The fact is that the blockade of Donbass hits Ukraine more painfully than Donbass. Without a supply of coal, rolling blackouts in Ukraine will begin. Today Ukraine buys coal in Donbass for hryvnias, while they will need two billion dollars to buy it abroad. Even if they involve those transfers that exist in Ukraine, they won’t be able to deliver even a quarter of the coal needed for power plants to operate. Plotnitsky gave a helping hand, reasoning that it’s all the same to whom to sell it to— either to Ukraine or Turkey. But anyway it is needed more by Ukraine than it is by Donbass,” declared Tsarev.
As a reminder, the head of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitsky stated the possible renewal of supply of coal to the territory of Ukraine. He named the removal of the transit blockade of Donbass as a compulsory condition of such a step towards Kiev, writes RIA Novosti.
