Oleg Tsarev: There Should Be One Sole Presidential Candidate Representing the Southeast of Ukraine

Translated by Ollie Richardson & Angelina Siard

The leader of the social movement “Ukrainian Choice — the Right of the People” Viktor Medvedchuk said that in five years in Ukraine the minimum pension and the size of the living wage were reduced by more than twofold along with a rapid increase in the cost of utilities and food. The former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev commented on this on the News Front program “In reality” hosted by Sergey Veselovsky.

“The standing of living falls, but at the same time deputies, politicians, and law enforcement officers grow rich. The state can reduce the standard of living for a very long time, and the people will accept it. Since the state of Ukraine will not go bankrupt, but the standard of living will fall and social standards will decrease”

notes Tsarev

“I am a supporter of the Southeast acting as a united front. The businesses that stood behind the Southeast could not act in opposition to the authorities, but they had numerous parties and organisations and they always moved as a single powerful front”

said the former deputy, commenting on the information in the media about the nomination of candidates who support a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbass
