Ukraine interferes with the withdrawal of arms at the only checkpoint of the demarcation line in Stanitsa Luganskaya. The alternative check point in Schastye remains mined by the UAF soldiers. At the request of the OSCE to remove the mines, the Ukrainian side refused.

Such information was told by the head of the OSCE SMM Alexander Hug during a Skype conference with the Ukrainian crisis center, reports the correspondent of Politnavigator.

“The bridge in Stanitsa Luganskaya, or what remains from it, is the only place in the region where people can come from the territories under the control of the government to the non-controlled ones. The sides agreed to withdraw armaments from the district of the Stanitsa Luganskaya, and to provide the sufficient level of silence for carrying out repair work on the bridge. However, they didn’t observe this agreement. To restore the bridge, which should unite, and not divide people, probably. International financing and will of the people are available for this purpose. It is hampered only by the parties of the conflict.

At the same time there are also obvious alternatives – the bridge in Schastye, which wasn’t destroyed, can become the checkpoint for vehicles and pedestrians. The Armed Forces of Ukraine refuse to clear it from the anti-tank mines that they placed across the bridge,” said Alexander Hug.
