The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has set the task to legislatively cement “Glory to Ukraine!” and “Glory to heroes!” as a military greeting in the UAF instead of the Soviet era “Hello, comrades!” and “I wish you health!”.

“The President of Ukraine has set the task to prepare changes in the Law of Ukraine on approved army regulations, because it defines the military regulations for greetings in the army. Such proposals are being prepared, and I hope that when People’s Deputies come back from their holidays they will adopt it in their majority,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.

He noted that the new greeting will be used during the parade as a part of the Independence Day of Ukraine in Kiev on August 24th.

At the same time, Poltorak called the earlier registered bill on changing the military greeting “crude”.
