Poroshenko Promised John McCain’s Widow That He Would Name a Street in Kiev In Honour of The Late Senator

On April 1st (not an April Fool’s joke, apparently) the outgoing president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told the widow of the war criminal John McCain that one of the streets of Kiev will be named in honour of her late husband in the near future.

The president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Cindy McCain discussed the presidential election continuing in Ukraine and – try not to laugh – gave appreciation to the fact that the first round took place freely and fairly. The website of Poroshenko states:

Ukraine convincingly demonstrated high standards of electoral race and political competition. During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of the immutability and sustainability of the course of reforms and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. They also underscored a solid international support for Ukraine in the issue of internal transformation and restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Poroshenko noted the “historic importance of Senator McCain’s heritage in establishing and building a new independent Ukraine” and reported that one of streets of Kiev will be named in honour of McCain in the near future.
