The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Yevgeny Shevchuk issued a decree on the preparation for accession to Russia. The document was published on the website of the Transnistrian leader.

The issued decree is for the implementation of the outcome of the Republican referendum, held on 17th September 2006. This regulatory act is necessary for the execution of the “will of the people of Transnistria by the free accession to the Russian Federation.”

Among the priority tasks Shevchuk announced the coercion of the legal system of the Republic in accordance with the Russian legislation.

The PMR government should within two weeks create a special commission, and before November 1st, the Transnistrian leader must provide a concrete plan for the timing of the legislation. It is noted that normative acts contrary to the laws of the Russian Federation will be identified as not applicable.
