In Kiev a man with a sniper rifle planning to join the protests outside Rada was detained. This was reported by the press service of the capital’s police.
The detainee was brought to the leadership of the police for identification and for the carrying out of priority investigative actions. He refused to provide an explanation and to give his personal data.
“This is a resident of the Odessa region, 1993 D.o.B. He explained that he bought the weapon in the Odessa region a few days ago. Why he came to Kiev and why he came to Grushevsky street with a weapon will be established during the investigation. We will send the weapon for examination,” said the chief of the main department of the National Police in Kiev Andrey Krishchenko.
The detainee also had a gun, a knife, a walkie-talkie, and mobile phones on him.
As a reminder, currently in Kiev protest actions against Poroshenko, which include the new party of Saakashvili take place. Outside the Verkhovna Rada on 18th October collisions between protesters and police begun. The police tried to dismantle the barricade, but failed: the activists pushed the police officers protecting the Rada aside. During the clashes law enforcement officers used gas.
Later, police officers detained several participants of the gathering. And towards the evening the leader of the “Movement of New Forces” party Mikhail Saakashvili came to the tent town.
“Vesti” described three scenarios for the development of the protests in Kiev: the most probable, in the general opinion of our experts, is the sluggish dampening of the actions, the least possible — “explosive depressurization” of the structure of power, built by Petro Poroshenko.
