The situation around the Blagoveshchensky temple of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – recently occupied by Greek-Catholics – in the city of Kolomiya continues to heat up. This can be seen in the video uploaded on the official website of the Ivano-Frankovsk diocese of Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

In the video [above – ed] it can be seen how representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church used violence against women – parishioners of the Blagoveshchensky temple – and shower them with insults and threats. At the same time it is seen how one of the priests of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church tries to knock a phone out of the hands of a believer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed], which she was using to document the corresponding offences.

“I was approached by a bald-headed priest. I asked him: ‘How did you open the temple’? This is a raider capture. You had no right to do it”, said the eyewitness of the raider attack committed by chaplains of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on the Blagoveshchensky temple. “In reply he said: ‘this is a Greek Catholic Church. Get out of here. We will cut all of your throats. We cut 400 people’s throats already, and we’ll cut yours too”.

In addition, parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed] highlight that the clergy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church resort to lying, trying to justify their capture of the temple of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

For example, the Uniate priest Nikolay Medinsky posted on his Facebook page an excerpt of a conversation with orthodox believers. In particular, the Greek-Catholic said that a year ago during the Ecumenical Orthodox council in Cyprus the Russian Orthodox Church was recognised as heretic.

“Therefore if you don’t want to be heretics, if you don’t want to preach a lie, while the devil is the father of the lie, so then tell the truth. I said the truth!” stressed Medinsky.

“The All-orthodox sobor took place not in Cyprus, but in Crete. Besides this, no decisions concerning the Russian Orthodox Church were made at it,” noted the publicist Aleksandr Ermolenko.

“Medinsky simply lied. However, this isn’t surprising. This priest is notorious for creating ‘fakes’ in relation to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [Moscow Patriarchate – ed]”.
