On the air of the “112” TV channel the Ukrainian TV host Petro Maga said that owners of restaurants and cafes that enforce a dress code that don’t let fighters of the “ATO” enter dressed in a military uniform can expect serious trouble.
“Today on ‘Facebook’ the head of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Dmitry Oleinik, my great friend, wrote an indignant post because yesterday an eminent commander of one of the brigades, who had experienced the most terrifying events at the frontline, wasn’t allowed to enter a Kiev restaurant located near the water dressed in a military uniform,” said Maga.
“What’s it called?” snapped the studio guest, the deputy of the “Radical party” Igor Mosiychuk.
“It’s called ‘Veranda’. They have only one dress code for entrance into the restaurant. I don’t want to blame anybody, but they are just trying to not have people in uniforms visible among their visitors,” answered the host.
“Dear restaurateurs of Kiev and all of Ukraine! I saw how in Israel soldiers with automatic machines come into restaurants and cafe, and they are fed at the expense of the institution, because they know what these guys and gals do for them.
That’s why, please, a big request – remove this shameful practice. If a person in a military uniform comes to you, if he isn’t drunk and doesn’t brawl, then please just receive them with great respect. Because I’m afraid that someone will start to radically fight with you after such cases, and only you will be to blame,” warned Petro Maga, speaking to Ukrainian restaurateurs.
“I want to highlight the fact that in a warring country the main dress code is a military uniform,” added Mosiychuk.
