Russia at the UN: Relatives of Captured Ukrainian Soldiers Ask Russia Not to Send Them Back

NEW – February 7, 2023

Are there any analogues in history? Where those who were captured did not hurry to return home from it.

“The relatives of some Ukrainian prisoners are asking not to return them home,” Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the UN, said at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

“It comes to the point that the mothers and wives of Ukrainian soldiers in their appeals to the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia ask to leave their loved ones on the territory of our country so that they are not herded to fight again,” the diplomat stressed.

Not everyone learns from their mistakes. There were also those who, after returning via an exchange, went to the front line again. But it’s not worth counting on a second exchange.

“People are used as cannon fodder in the battle to the last Ukrainian,” Polyansky said.

Not everyone has time to understand this. Only the living. In addition to those who do not want to return, it would be good to add those who do not want to go to the front. Then the territory, which is still called Ukraine, would have been liberated sooner.
