Serbian Basketball Fans Honored Churkin’s Memory During Euroleague Game

Fans of the Serbian basketball club “Crvena Zvezda” (Red Star) honored the memory of the Russian diplomat Vitaly Churkin during a Euroleague match against the Turkish “Galatasaray”. The was reported to TASS by the basketball agent Mishko Razhnatovich.

The permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Churkin suddenly died in the US on February 20th, a day before his 65th birthday.

“During the match against ‘Galatasaray’ Serbian fans stretched out a banner in memory of Churkin,” said Razhnatovich. “On a banner created by the fans it is written: ‘Rest in peace, true friend of the Serbian people, Vitaly Churkin'”.
