In Nikolaev employees of the operational departments of the Azov-Black Sea regional adminstration of the State Border Service together with the SBU “prevented the smuggling of cultural assets from Ukraine”.

This was reported by the press center of State Border Service, which published at the same time a photo with crosses and badges with fascist swastikas.

“Law enforcement bodies established that a worker at one of the public institutions of Nikolaev tried to illegally transport antiquarian objects abroad via international mail,” it is said in the statement.

The citizen looked for clients on specialised websites on the Internet. “Field investigators documented an attempt to smuggle about 60 medals and award badges from the 19-20th century, which were supposed to go to a foreign customer,” said the border guards.

During a search at the place of residence of the defendant in the case, law enforcement bodies found materials and electronic media confirming his illegal activity, reported the State Border Service. Suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was declared to the violator.
