The Star of Victory in Lugansk was restored as a part of the actions devoted to the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the city from fascist aggressors, reports the correspondent of “Novorosinform” from the place of the event.

The stele with the Star of Victory was installed by bikers of the Night Wolves club in 2016 Victory Day. In November, 2016, the monument was blown up by Ukrainian saboteurs. Despite the repair work, in several days the stele fell from a strong gust of wind. Now the work of bikers and the city authorities of Lugansk have made and installed a new Star of Victory.

“Today we have gathered at the stele devoted to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This Star of Victory was established last year by our fighters of an already modern war, “Night wolves”. Unfortunately, during this time this star has twice been damaged, but for the third time we have installed it today, I think, forever,” declared the mayor of Lugansk Manolis Pilavov, opening the restored stele.

“She will symbolize not only the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, but also the heroic events in the defense of the city in 2014. Honor and praise to those soldiers that liberated our city and defended our Republic,” noted the city’s mayor.

Veterans and representatives of public and youth organizations of the city gathered for the opening ceremony of the restored Star.

In Lugansk celebrations devoted to the 74th anniversary of the liberation of Voroshilovgrad from fascist aggressors also took place.
