“It is worth noting that so-called ‘Chigari’ is the Chigarskaya gully in the southeastern suburb of the settlement Yuzhnoye, which the UAF previously avoided because of the unprofitableness of its location. I.e., it is not a separate settlement, as Ukrainian propaganda tries to present. In this area the water level is so high that it isn’t even possible to dig trenches.

In addition, the enemy isn’t capable of opening fire from this area because, being in an open area in the lowland, the weapons will be immediately destroyed by us to prevent them being used on civilians. He also said that the Ukrainian commission of inquiry revealed that the commander of the 54th brigade Maystrenko is to blame for the shelling of the settlements and civilians of Donbass, as well as the excessive consumption of ammunition.

“After the failure of the Ukrainian side in the 54th brigade, the ‘North’ separate tactical group commissioned work to assess the situation, to determine the degree of fault of the commander of the brigade, and to establish order. It was already established by the commission that the brigade opened artillery fire at settlements and civilians under the personal order of Maystrenko. During an inspection the excessive consumption of ammunition was revealed, which required the quick replenishment of ammo supplies using the warehouses of the ‘North’ group,” said Daniil Bezsonov in conclusion.
