The House of Trade Unions in Odessa, Where 300+ People Were Burned Alive, Was Equipped With a Kebab House

In Odessa A shashlik house was built in the yard of the notorious House of Trade Unions.

“We were surprised to find out that a gazebo with a brick grill was built in the yard of the building. The security of the building is, to put it mildly, not too friendly and forbids to remove the ‘kebab house’, threatening to use physical violence,” wrote the “Dumskaya” (pro-maidan) news agency.

The head of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Odessa region Vyacheslav Buratynsky said that he does not know who established the grill, however he doesn’t see anything bad about it.

Perhaps it is the builders who did it, but, frankly speaking, I do not see a problem – it disturbs nobody

Since 2017 the building has been undergoing renovation. At the same time, the prosecutor’s office had legal proceedings with the Federation of Trade Unions, trying to obtain the return of the House of Trade Unions to the state’s property. It was wanted to transfer the building to the headquarters of the Ukrainian Navy, however the court supported the FTU.

As a reminder, on May 2nd 2014 as a result of the street riots caused by the standoff between “Anti-Maidan” and “Euromaidan” activists, there was a horrifying fire in the House of Trade Unions that claimed 300+ human lives.
